Why do you need my passport information?
All stays in registered Local Lodging establishments must be reported to AIMA (Agency for Integration, Migration, and Asylum), according to Portuguese law. This is a legal requirement that applies to both hotels and short-term rentals.
Can I check in earlier or check out later?

Why do I have to pay a city tax?
The city tax is a fee charged to all guests staying in tourist or local accommodations. It is implemented to support local infrastructure and improve the tourism sector. What do I need to apply for an Alojamento Local (short-term rental) license?
If your property is in an area where short-term rental licenses are allowed, you will need the following documents:
- Property Tax Registration (Caderneta Predial)
- Copy of the property owner’s ID or passport
- Liability insurance proof for Alojamento Local
- Proof of business registration in the Portuguese Tax Authority
- Property’s Utilization License number

What is Rentalgest’s commission?
